Nissan Frontier 250th Anniversary Edition Debuts

As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Nissan is commemorating the milestone with the introduction of the 2027 Nissan Frontier 250th Anniversary Edition. This limited-production model not only celebrates the nation’s history but also recognizes Nissan’s more than 40 years of manufacturing vehicles in the United States and the hardworking employees who have helped shape the brand’s success.
Available in a limited run of just 2,500 trucks, the Frontier 250th Anniversary Edition combines the rugged capability drivers expect with an exclusive patriotic design that honors both American heritage and Nissan’s manufacturing legacy.
“The Frontier has always stood for rugged capability, durability and adventurous fun – hallmarks of Nissan’s DNA,” said Christian Meunier, chairman, Nissan Americas. “Just as importantly, it represents the strength of American manufacturing. As we celebrate -1 million Frontiers assembled in Canton during America’s 250th anniversary year, this special edition honors the workers, communities and enduring spirit that drive our industry and our country forward.”
Celebrating a Milestone in American History
The special edition arrives during a landmark year as the United States marks its 250th anniversary in 2026. Rather than creating an entirely new trim, Nissan chose a subtle approach by adding an exclusive Stars and Stripes-inspired monochromatic tailgate badge, giving the Frontier a unique appearance while maintaining its proven capability. Perhaps even more notable is Nissan’s decision to offer the commemorative package at no additional MSRP, making the special edition accessible to Frontier enthusiasts without increasing the truck’s price.
Honoring Nissan’s American Manufacturing Legacy
The launch also celebrates another major achievement for Nissan: one million Frontier pickups assembled at the Canton, Mississippi Vehicle Assembly Plant. Since Frontier production began in the United States in 1998, Nissan has built more than two million Frontier trucks domestically.
Nissan’s U.S. manufacturing story dates back even further:
- Pickup truck production in the U.S. began in 1983 at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant.
- Frontier production started in Tennessee before moving to Canton, Mississippi in 2012.
- Every Frontier’s 3.8-liter V6 engine is assembled at Nissan’s Decherd Powertrain Plant in Tennessee.
- Nissan has invested billions in American manufacturing while supporting thousands of jobs across its U.S. facilities.
The 250th Anniversary Edition serves as a tribute not only to America but also to the employees and communities that have supported Nissan’s manufacturing operations for decades.

The commemorative package is available exclusively on Frontier PRO-4X models, including:

Built for Adventure
The Frontier has long earned a reputation for combining durability with off-road capability. The PRO-4X trim enhances that reputation with trail-ready equipment, advanced technology, and modern comfort features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, Nissan Safety Shield® 360, and premium interior amenities. The 250th Anniversary Edition simply adds another chapter to the Frontier’s story while celebrating the people and places that have made its success possible.
“For 250 years, America has been defined by those who build and by the pride, skill and resilience of its workforce,” said David Johnson, regional senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas. “American workers and U.S. manufacturing continue to define Nissan’s future as much as our past. This special edition is a proud tribute, not only to an iconic truck, but to the generations of American workers and their craftsmanship, dedication and innovation.”
